General Operative
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: General Operative REPORTS TO: Area Manager/ Shift Lead
JOB PURPOSE: This role will perform general duties as required within the manufacturing process within the factory areas. It will involve being flexible and ‘quick to learn’ so as to pick up new skills and provide any reasonable duties requested. General operatives may be assigned to an individual process / machine, but they also need the commitment and flexibility to move to other roles and duties as the business requires.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General duties:
- Follow advice and guidance from area leads or managers within the manufacturing process
- Willing to participate in cross functional departmental training
- Maintain health & safety standards at all times
- Bring any issues with machines / processes / raw material quality to the attention of management within the area.
- Assist to maintain housekeeping standards throughout the factory / warehouse and yard – this should be given the highest of priorities at all times to ensure safe working practices and a professional company image.
- To lift material in accordance / compliance with the companies Health & safety policies.
- Carry out all reasonable requests pertaining to your position and within your capabilities.

- Dexterity and practical skills, along with being a clear, logical thinker
- Be computer literate and proficient with IT systems within a manufacturing environment
- An individual who is highly motivated and energetic
- Ability to communicate well at all levels
- The ability to keep track of key information – attention to detail is essential
- Tenacity to seek out information and correct answers
